a death cry

when the greatest love

bore the most painful death

and the victory cry

was one of surrender

when the act of peace

was an act of brutality

and forgiveness

a river of crimson

when the salt of sadness

were actually tears of joy

and the hope dimmed

only to shine brighter

when the darkness fell

and the curtain tore

was the moment of silence

of peace restored

when the final words

was the hopeless song

and the cry of death

a victory call

when holy judgement

was a merciful comfort

and the painful ending

a faithful beginning

that moment when the cry of death

echoed throughout the sudden darkness

was the moment the cry of life was born

and would result in forgiveness
